About Us

Happy Birthday, Good Shepherd!

January 1, 2012 marked the 42nd Anniversary of Good Shepherd

The history of our congregation dates back to 1890 when a group of Lutherans organized Trinity Lutheran Church in the west end of Coatesville.  With members living in both the east and west ends of town, the church grew.  Then, in 1908, primarily with members of Trinity who were living in the east end of town, a second Lutheran congregation, Our Saviour, was created.

For the next 62 years, the two Lutheran congregations served the Coatesville community.  In 1970 Trinity and Our Saviour reunited to become Good Shepherd and a new building was build on the corner of 17th Avenue and Oak Street in Caln Township, just east of Coatesville.

With the town of Coatesville and the surrounding area slowly emerging as the western-most suburb of Philadelphia, an 11,000 square foot addition with a large fellowship hall and classrooms was built in 2002 and serves the entire Coatesville community.

Come, worship with us.  We would
love to meet and greet you!
